Fontanafredda, winemaker from Piedmont
Discover the Legacy of Fontanafredda Wine Estate
A Historic Pioneer in Piedmont
The Fontanafredda estate was created in 1858 in the Langhe hills, in the heart of the famous wine region of Piedmont. A true pioneer and point of reference for the region, Fontanafredda continues to innovate without denying its roots and the achievements of past generations.
Exceptional Vineyards and Grape Varieties
The vines are planted on the perfectly exposed hills in the municipalities of Serralunga d´Alba, Diano d´Alba, Barolo and Murisengo totalling an area of 85 hectares. The composition of the soils is mainly limestone with significant variations in surface area between the different plots. This allows amazing expressions of the mainly traditional grape varieties cultivated by Fontanafredda: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Moscato.
A Blend of Tradition and Innovation
It is a clever mix of traditions and innovations in the vineyards and in the cellar that make Fontanafredda one of the most fashionable areas in Piedmont, as attested by the numerous distinctions from some of national and international critics.
